03 Purpose
To capture her floristry and create a cohesive library of brand visuals for her rebrand.
The Brief
When Jo, founder of Issy & Bella in Herefordshire, got in touch about her florist branding shoot, she was preparing for an exciting new chapter in her business. After more than ten years running her wedding and event floristry business, she was ready to rebrand with a fresh website and a new visual identity that reflected the clients she works with now – and the ones she wanted to attract in the future.
Her floristry was well-established, but she knew her old imagery didn’t quite capture the direction she wanted to take her business. Her aim was simple: she wanted a florist branding shoot that would capture not only her beautiful florals, but also what it feels like to work with her.
Her goals were to:
Launch her new website with strong visuals
Create a consistent aesthetic for Instagram and marketing materials
Use photography and video that reflect her brand values of calmness, kindness, and expertise
Build trust with prospective couples who might be meeting her for the first time online
“I want my branding and website to give the feeling of affordable luxury flowers provided by an experienced, knowledgeable florist – and to show me as a kind, calm, approachable person to have as part of your wedding.”
That’s where our branding shoot came in. Together, we created a library of photos and videos that align with her new aesthetic and capture the calming, approachable presence Jo is known for.
Bringing the vision to life
Jo’s dream shoot wasn’t about staged, polished portraits. Instead, she envisioned relaxed, candid moments that would feel inviting to her audience.
She wanted her imagery to feel relaxed, elegant and lighthearted – like you could “fall into the photos, sit down with her for a coffee, and look at flowers together.” And she wanted her visuals to communicate what past clients consistently tell her: that beyond the flowers themselves, it’s Jo’s presence that makes their experience so special. Capturing that sense of trust and calm became central to her shoot.
Her new brand palette of grey-blue, oatmeal, and blush pink became the foundation for the shoot. Wardrobe-wise, Jo kept things simple and true to herself – relaxed jeans, light shirts, soft dresses, and her favourite Birkenstocks. She wanted her audience to recognise the real Jo: approachable, calm, and comfortable.
To bring the story to life, we combined:
Photography and video – stills for timeless images, film for movement and atmosphere
Process shots – bouquet making, ribbon tying, lighting candles, moodboarding
Detail styling – striped wrapping paper, ribbons, scissors, and soft tableware that tied into her brand aesthetic.
The result? A gallery of imagery and film that not only shows Jo’s florals, but also the experience of working with Issy & Bella.
Practicalities on the Day
The shoot flowed in a way that balanced structure with spontaneity. We worked through Jo’s shot list – from bouquet making to styled table scapes – but left space for natural, candid moments.
To create variety, we included branding elements like striped wrapping paper, ribbons, candles, and tableware, ensuring the visuals would feel cohesive across her online presence.
Jo didn’t want every image to be of her face. Instead, she wanted storytelling moments: arranging flowers, tying ribbons, selecting colours, lighting candles, and creating bouquets. These moments not only showcase her craft, but also give her audience a sense of the journey from moodboard to finished arrangement.
“Over the years, clients have told me it’s me that makes their wedding and flower experience so good – they feel safe in my hands. I wanted my branding to give this same feeling.”
My Favourite Shots From The Day
It’s always hard to choose favourites, but a few moments stood out:
1. The ribbon-in-the-wind film clip
This little detail says so much. The gentle movement of the ribbons in the breeze captures the sensory experience of floristry – something you just can’t convey in a still image.
For Jo, it was about elegance, softness, and bringing her brand to life in motion.
Film like this is perfect for social media reels or website banners, adding a touch of atmosphere that makes people feel the brand, not just see it.
2. overhead shot of table scape
The table was styled in nude tones – cream, blush, a hint of pink – with delicate tapered candles and an oatmeal runner pulling it all together.
Capturing this kind of scene from above shows the artistry and detail that go into Jo’s work. It’s a versatile shot that gives her content for multiple uses: a website header, a social media post about wedding styling, or even a brochure spread.
This kind of imagery elevates her brand presence, helping clients instantly connect with her timeless, elegant aesthetic.
3. candid portrait with client
One of my favourites – Jo with a bride-to-be, chatting over tea and cupcakes with flowers scattered across the table.
It feels so natural and relaxed, yet it tells you everything you need to know: Jo listens, she cares, and she makes her clients feel comfortable and understood.
For couples browsing online, an image like this builds trust. It’s not just about the flowers, it’s about the experience of working with Jo and knowing you’re in safe hands.
4. Jo at work
Behind-the-scenes images are gold for brand storytelling.
Here, Jo is carefully selecting stems for a bouquet, surrounded by flowers in a calm, light-filled kitchen. It’s such a simple moment, but it shows the process and the magic that clients rarely see.
Including shots like this helps demystify the craft, showcasing Jo’s expertise while giving her audience confidence in her artistry. These are the kinds of images that work so well on social media to talk about process, care, or the beauty in the details.
The impact on Jo’s floristry brand
For Jo’s shoot, stills and video worked hand-in-hand. Photos gave her timeless images for her website, brochures and Instagram feed, while video allowed us to show her artistry in motion.
From the soft rustle of ribbon to the careful placement of stems, film captured the sensory experience of working with Issy & Bella. These clips will be invaluable for social media reels and website banners, helping Jo’s audience feel immersed in her work.
The photography balanced portraits with detail shots and wide frames, giving Jo a versatile gallery of imagery. Some images highlight her craft up close, while others place her in context – walking with flowers, chatting with a bride, or simply laughing in the moment.
Jo’s new website and rebrand are now live – you can visit it here: www.issyandbella.co.uk – her new visuals giving her a fresh, consistent look across her online presence. Jo now has a rich, story-led content bank she can use across all of her marketing and client touch points for months to come.
Most importantly, her brand story goes beyond flowers. Her visuals now show the experience of working with her – the laughter, the calm, and the intuitive way she cares for each client.
For couples discovering Issy & Bella for the first time, these visuals offer a first impression that’s completely aligned with Jo’s values and aesthetic.
Her brand now communicates:
-
Elegance: soft tones, natural styling, and carefully curated details
-
Warmth: approachable, candid portraits that make her audience feel welcome
-
Trust: a sense of calm expertise, showing couples they’re in safe hands
Jo’s story highlights why investing in a brand shoot can make such a difference when rebranding or launching a new website. It’s not just about ‘nice photos’, it’s about creating visuals that align with your brand values and speak to your audience.
By thinking carefully about colour palettes, styling, and the feelings she wanted to evoke, Jo has ensured that her imagery works hard for her brand.
